Solar energy has an essential role to play in reducing global carbon emissions.
Solar energy is the most abundant of all energy sources and can be harnessed in sunny and cloudy weather.
It is an environmentally friendly energy source. It doesn’t consume fossil fuels, or contributes to air, water, or noise pollution and it does not pose a health hazard.
The cost of manufacturing solar panels has reduced dramatically in the last decade, making them not only affordable but one of the cheapest forms of electricity generation. Solar panels have a lifespan of approximately 30 years and with changing technology are continuously improving and can now be recycled.
15 per cent of Australia’s power generation was from solar in 2022 and is continuing to increase.

Solar technologies can deliver heat, cooling, natural lighting, electricity, and fuels for a host of applications. Solar technologies convert sunlight into electrical energy through photovoltaic panels or through mirrors that concentrate solar radiation.
