Water is an essential element for green hydrogen production. 9L of water is required to produce 1kg of green hydrogen through electrolysis.
Water can be supplied to the Project via the Stirling Trunk Main, located approximately 3km from the proposed location of the hydrogen facility. Frontier has executed a Water Supply Agreement with Water Corporation, the principal supplier of water in WA, that ensures the availability of up to 1,250kL/day of water for the Project’s green hydrogen production, sufficient for any potential hydrogen production.
Without access to suitable water, a desalination facility would be required for producing hydrogen, which would carry significant capital costs, environmental assessments and regulatory approvals.
